I think this was an excellent first post, haha. 'Twas funny and well written. I agree with Scattercat in that the line breaks do well towards the overall flow of it, too.

Hickory dickory dock, a mouse ran up a clock. It spun a web, wound up dead, and I stopped leaving out radioactive spiders.

I quite enjoyed this story - it had a sorta whimsical feel to it. It was almost childlike in the way the narration and the prose melded together, but not in a bad way at all.
