Re: Drabblecast 106- Boiled Black Broth and Cornets by Frank
“This is my own home-made soup,” she announced, “For in addition to building the fortress and learning the cornet I have taken a correspondence course in devising original soup recipes. In your bowl you have what I dubbed Becke Beiderbix’s Boiled Black Broth, in which every single ingredient begins...

Most of Frank's stories require some suspension of dis-belief: I think you need to just accept that in the same way that you might be OK with FTP space-ships or talking robots. None of these things exist in the real world (yet) but we can imagine that they do.

So how do you go about sponsoring The Drabblecast?
I really enjoyed what Norm and pals did to promote Happy Birthday Robot. I really got a feel for the product and a genuine sense of enthusiasm from the presenters. Now what if I wanted to hire the Drabs to promote a similarly exciting product - how might I go acquiring their services and what might ...

Re: Drabblecast 161- Higher than Usual
I really enjoyed Dan's reading, particularly the way he transforms the narrator from the office dullard to a raving psychopath. I really enjoyed the story... ...but if you allow me to be hyper-critical, I felt that it had a few moments which seemed a bit redundant or flabby. For example, the bit whe...

Re:
I really loved this piece, especially since I listen to Hooting Yard. I loved that there were a few references to the Hooting Yard universe - Pointytown, a certain pamphleteer, etc. The narration was great, too. I occasionally imagined what it would have been like if Frank Key had read it, but then...

Re: Drabblecast 140- Trifecta X
Bubbles didn't make much sense to me. I just didn't get a story that starts out with biological security being treated very seriously and then somehow when the bug gets out nobody seems to care. Was everybody contaminated simultaneously even through their bio protection gear? If you have to ask que...

She wanted to lead a jazz band called "The Becke Beiderbix Bix Beiderbecke Tribute Cornet Octet featuring Bixder Beibecke, Beike Bixderbec, Kebec Bixderbei, Bixbec Beiderke, Beibix Becderke, Derke Bixbecbei, Kebeider Bixbec, and Bixke Derbeibec." It was her dream, and she found a way to pull it off...

Drabblecast + Frank Key = fun. Whilst listening to the story, I also heard in my head how Frank would read it. Two entirely different beasts. Frank always sounds so indifferent, Norm so earnest.. Frank's version will be on his podcast sometime this month. Norm's version is the podcasting debut of t...
