Re: Drabblecast 376 – A Last Kiss for Lazarus Winters (A Saint Darwin’s Spiritual)

I loved this story, and the narration was excellent. It really added to the piece. Something about this story bugged me. I couldn't figure out what. Then it hit me: this is a sequel to St. Darwin's Spirituals, which ran as a special Halloween episode of Escape Pod (episode 264, Oct 2010). So, if any...

Re: Drabblecast 372 - Delicate Parts

Well, that should put paid to any allegations about Drabblecast being too grown up and mature these days. A great laugh. I was cackling all the way through.

I enjoyed that one too. I'm happy to see the Drabblecast is on a more regular schedule now. I just hope it doesn't get cocked up.

Re: Drabblecast 371 - Old Dead Futures

Nice to hear another episode. I was really beginning to worry about the onset of Podcast rot, so it's encouraging to hear another episode. Sorry about hearing about your girlfriend and job, Norm. I'm not which order to put those two in, but that's going to leave a mark. I've been there. It sucked. I...

Re: Artificial Intelligence software produces nightmare images

There was a painter in Edwardian England, Louis Wain, who painted cats. He also had schizophrenia. As the schizophrenia progressed, his cats went from cute to bizarre geometric shapes not even resembling cats. http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/creatology/files/2011/12/Wain_cats_6.jpg There's somet...

Artificial Intelligence software produces nightmare images

Here's the link to Google explaining their 'neural net' Deep Dream AI software and how it recognizes and produces images. And here are the images Deep Dream generates as it peers into a nightmare gateway into another dimension. I'm not saying humanity should destroy all computers now while we still...

y'all getting' soft on me. :) Just playin. Message received. They all gettin' soft on you. Seriouslike. I thought this episode was great; disturbing but awesome, and I don't believe the Drabblecast should shy away from material like this. Here's why. The Holy Trinity of my podcast list is Escape Po...

Re: Drabblecast 357 - Trifecta: Embarrassing Personal Problems

Three good stories, but On the Nose had to be my favorite. Casey Regan didn't have that many lines in the story, but she really had excellent delivery on those lines. I was really impressed with her.

Re: Drabblecast 359 - Trifecta: Unnatural Growth

That just kept on getting increasingly creepy. I didn't think that anything would top the second story, about Prometheus's horribly cancerous liver, but that third story really ratcheted it up. Very nice production values on this story as well. It's nice to see guest producers on the show. This week...

Nice one. Well, not nice, but well-executed. You pack much into 100 words.

The starship shudders in an energy flux. “You underestimate the danger,” I say, finishing my coffee. My passenger grins. “I have a perfect forged identity waiting for me at the Pavonis system. Thanks for the extended deadline. I was meaning to vote, but got behind in my podcasts and wasn't going to be able to listen all of the nominees before the cutoff.

Re: Drabblecast 239 – Killing The Morrow

"The past has changed, I learn in my sleep. Small events have evolved into mammoth ones... I don't have to kill my grandpa. I just have to tickle his hairy balls."

Wow. When I was a kid, I can't imagine all the times I changed the future for three dollars and a candy bar.

Re: Drabblecast 356 - An Exodus of Wings

The production values on this one were amazing. Not only all of the sound effects and the music, but the use of stereo. Especially in Part 3, when I could hear the insects flying past in the park, and the voice of the female protagonist circling around from the left to the right channel as she spoke...

Re: Drabblecast 353 - Primrose or Return to Il’maril

I liked this one. Very philosophical, and well-paced. Very nice story. But I have to wonder if they all just burned up in flames and the the group that left worried them selfs to death? Or did they die out from the lack of sun. That's for the audience to decide for themselves, I guess. Maybe the dre...

Re: Drabblecast 355 - Kiriki Grocery

Very cool, quirky story. Why wouldn't aliens have grocery stores very similar to our own? Makes sense, doesn't it? And if the aliens have money and grocery stores, then perhaps armed robbery is inevitable. Perhaps if humanity encountered alien life forms, we'd find them all a bit too familiar... My ...
