Re: Post your Twitfic Twabbles Here! (General Content)

This Mother's Day, show your mothers you really care: give the gift of orchids.
After all, that's Greek for "testicle".

Re: Drabblecast 246 – The Kidney

Eh, nobody's listening. Huzzah! Does this make me your first subscriber? I promise to be as nonjudgmental as a proud parent at an elementary school play. On a random note about this episode, it's a shame that these guys and those guys didn't co-sponsor the episode so that, filled with guilt ...

Re: Drabblecast 246 – The Kidney

I dunno. Podcasting sounds suspiciously like public speaking to me, which in turn is utterly terrifying, unless I've had just the right amount of stout. I found Dribblecast on iTunes--subscribed! Will listen to some episodes and see if the sheer force of peer pressure persuades me to down some stout...

Re: Drabblecast 246 – The Kidney

Organ rejection hurts, don't it? I loved this story, and can't really place my renal artery on why. Probably because anatomical science is currently my favorite science, and disembodied anthropomorphic organs make me happy. This story made me bring the poor kidney home, wrap it in a warm meninx or t...

Re: Drabblecast 239 – Killing The Morrow

We try not to let that happen around here. Thanks, this is very refreshing. I'm used to donning my Gawker/Kotaku-strength flame retardant body armor when I say stuff like that. Grateful I get to keep my bowels for another day. You get more mileage out of a ritual sacrifice under a new moon anyway. ...

Re: Drabblecast 239 – Killing The Morrow

I thought this story was clever, well-told, and chilling, with a nice ending. But one thing kept me from enjoying it: the strange and alienating misogynistic undertones. The main female character, "the woman", is characterized as stupid and passive and obsessed with teh babiiez, which makes sense gi...

Re: Dromomania (Wayfarer Theme)

Thanks for the kind words, folks. I felt the theme begged for something with an old-fashioned Anglo-Saxon Riddle flavor.

Although, when the Anglo-Saxons wrote anatomical riddles, theirs were always a bit more bawdy!

Very nice! Reminds me of a take on Douglas Adams's "Somebody Else's Problem Field" in Hitchhiker's Guide. It's hiding in plain sight, but no one cares...

Dromomania (Wayfarer Theme)

Inspiration. I am flung into the frenzied thoroughfares, exiled from thee, my heart, on a quest to bring life to the distant ends of this world. I ride my bright craft down the thundering course where the river ever-narrows: tributary, brook, rill, and at last, a far shore where I deliver sustenance...

Re: Shape Shifting Reptilian Conspiracy Poll

This seems relevant: choose your own conspiracy theory! Not comprehensive by any stretch of the imagination, but think of it as a reason to don a tinfoil hat every day of the year. Warning: THEY didn't want me to share this, but The Truth must be shared... http://crispian-jago.blogspot.com/2013/04/t...

I wish we had an online component, but alas, we mainly lurk in coffee shops, living rooms, and unspeakable places of darkness in Athens. How far south are you located? Valdosta?

Re: Drabblecast 227 – The Star

Great story and great reading by Norm. Reading through this discussion was perhaps even better than the episode itself. I'm disappointed that I'm a year late to the party. Climate change, theodicy, and an examination of the moral and ethical problems of literalist readings of the Bible? Excellent. Y...

Re: Fetus-Vomiting Horror Frog to be Resurrected by Science

Yeah, after all, fire's the only really reliable way to destroy creatures of horror. Otherwise it might come back on its own at a most inconvenient time. (Norm Sherman's next first date, maybe? "There's a fetus in your... AHHH IT'S IN YOUR MOUTH!")

Fetus-Vomiting Horror Frog to be Resurrected by Science

The Lovecraftian zombie frog of horror will live again! All hail the Hypnotoad! Seriously cool stuff, though. Now if science will get on with cloning my T-Rex, all will be right with the world. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/technology/2013/03/frog-that-gives-birth-through-mouth-to-be-brought-back-from...

Re: Drabblecast 211 - At the End of the Hall

Hello! New Drabblecast fan here. I've been working my way through the stash on iTunes, trying to get caught up to the present so I could join the conversation on the most recent stuff, but then I heard this episode. I loved it. I loved it so much I had to register just to say so. Even if it means bu...
