Re: Good Fences Make Good Neighbors (Aliens theme)

Love it. I particularly like the dialect (not enough drabbles with a nice voice to 'em) and the pathos of the whole thing, even with the pun at the end. Poor aliens. :(

Re: Secretnude's Drabble Poetry Corner

If you're feeling like a challenge, you should give NaNoWriMo a shot when November rolls around. It's a blast, and it's great if you really want to grow as a writer, because there's nothing like writing 50,000 words in 30 days to get you thinking about writing all the time. :)

Re: Drabbslations

Thanks for explicitly asking, and while you've already said as much, I strongly recommend making sure you have individual permission from each author you want to translate, as authors DO legally retain rights for things they choose to publish electronically, even in such a public forum as this. The ...

Also, I hate it when I get the glossolalia, especially when nobody's around to interpret. Charisma are such a burden.  I splorted! On an unrelated note, to anyone affected by the ice storm, hope you all made it through the night okay. One of my buddies from the Pseudopod staff spend the ...

Re: Abode of the Darned (Cursed! Theme)

Just birthday gifts, right? Seriously. Norm's next bbardle should be "Gift-Rapped" What with "Sci-fi High" and the Big Mac rap, Norm may very well be a serial rappist at this time. If he cranks out any rhymes about Cap'n Crunch, we'll have our confirmation. I think most of us will be in Heck for on...

Re: Blood ritual laws?

You can actually buy cow's blood by the gallon at some of the farmer's markets in Atlanta, GA. I've always assumed it was some exotic cooking ingredient somewhere in the world, but now you've got me wondering... It's for transfusions. And here I've just been putting it into my tea in the morning. H...

Re: Winter Dogs

Hehehe! ^^ Imagine what it would be like if all our kitchen appliances cooked food via trans-dimensional climate shifts. You've got the frozen wasteland where you keep the frozen peas, the infernal post-nuclear that's just right for baking lasagna, and you don't even want to know where your toaster ...

Re: What's Your Drink?

Well, we're snowed in, so I'm calling it an early Friday-night beer time! Drinking a nice pineappley Belgian Ale from the Bruery (damn you, California, and your universally tasty beers!) and watching the snow (a rare treat round here). Word on the street is that things are really bad up in Atlanta r...

Re: What's Your Drink?

I'm toasting the end of a particularly long week with a Belgian-style quad from Jopen called Doubting Thomas. It's got a distinctive anise flavor to it, I'd definitely recommend! And now for two random DC-related stories this week: 1. I mentioned "Flying on the Hatred of my Neighbor's Dog" in the co...
