Re: Pursuit?

Ah yes, the Theresa Green of University of Calgary fame, an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Faculty of Medicine (Clinical Neurosciences). I'm actually from Calgary myself, and I'm glad her legend has become international. Well composed drabb...

Re: Everyone knows it’s your Parents : Conspiracy Theory The

“This won’t hurt very much. Just lie back and imagine you’re wherever you’d like to be”, said Dr. Charon, as he slipped the mask of Morpheus over my swollen face. I tried to imagine the beach we washed up on before the scurvy made our teeth fall out. I tried to imagine feasting on roasted boar once...

Re: Everyone knows it’s your Parents : Conspiracy Theory The

My parents told me Charon took all the teeth to Hades on the tooth ferry... Pfff...nice. But I'm curious what the God of Death does with them. I challenge you to drabble that. *this is me attempting to like this challenge - Facebook style :D Sounds like time or no time, the gauntlet has been tossed...

Re: Plain Sight

IMO, it would be stronger to start with the final sentence, then show us the little green men at Halloween with the President, etc. The "twist" is the basis, and the the humorous methods and nefarious purpose are the pay-off, at least for me. Agreeing with Strawman. After your first sentence everyt...

Re: Another Inhabitant [Category: Truth Seeker]

Quite beautiful. It took me a couple reads to really understand what was going on, but the text is very lyrical. I feel it might benefit from a little formatting to control the pacing, so it doesn't come at you like a brick wall of text. It'll help give certain lines punch, too. I took the liberty o...

Re: Pay it Forward

Yikes. Instantly paints a thousand possible events. But I'm also wondering what Charon does with all that shiny. Is he like a magpie? Very good drabble. If I may make a suggestion for improvement, some words are repeated a few times. 'The Ferryman' is used 5 times, and I feel it would be stronger an...

Re: Strange Beasts

I did think of the Pigs in AF after I saw the finished work, but it actually came from a larger piece where animals start behaving like fairy tale animals and try to integrate into society. I think it's stronger here, though. Assimilation is scary.

Everyone knows it’s your Parents : Conspiracy Theory Theme

Mom’s teeth are always falling out. When that happens she puts on her mad face. I’ll tell her it’s okay, my teeth fall out too. That cheers her up. She’ll ask me if any are loose. Sometimes I lie and say yes, because the toothfairy leaves money for a whole TWO candy bars! Mom helps me get it out. Th...

Strange Beasts

The animals have been acting strangely. They no longer go on all fours. They stagger on two, falling over and over again. They always get back up. They've been stealing clothing, but wear it on the wrong places. They try to speak. But without lips and tongues the words are mangled, alien. We waited ...

I know the purple Flinstones taste bad, kid. But the Bujon hate grape-flavoured children, too. So eat lots of Bam-Bams.

Re: My Dog is an Alien

An Alien Dog, is in a bog, sniffing fallen logs for chemical traces and simply braces itself for detection and attention from a government guy who may be a spy. Who knows why the shape shifters are here and really does fear the coming apocalyptic year. When they land and replace all our pets, and a...

We sent a formal complaint to the post, but the storks misfiled it. Granny had to reknit the baby clothes with extra arms.
