I love ending on a groan. Building a drabble is like a musical composition - it requires finality and a degree of 'Well, that's enough of that."

Re: Igor's Revenge

Thanks for the helpful feedback. How about this? Igor pushed the mop slowly around the laboratory. He sighed as the blood and offal sloshed down the drain. Igor had seen better experiments in his tenth grade chemistry lab. His mind drifted back to the sonnet he had been composing. "Oh, what's the u...

Re: A Day in the Afterlife of Pestilence Jr. (Apprentice The

But Death and his schedule were intimate. I originally rewrote that to "Death's schedule was his bible" but felt that was a little too charged. Then I just got rid of it and used my words to buy some more time with Malady. Thanks for your feedback, stachebro. Helped me finetune it. I think this cou...

Re: Instructions for creating a B-Sides account.

Step 5: Beseech The Wisest Stone for the Key. Step 6: Grow a moustache, and name it Beatrice. St. Tom will then PM you your password. Thusly, you are completely assimilated. Thus we have entered Drabblecast legend and lore. We need video evidence of the moustache, FYI, and it better introduce itself.

A Day in the Afterlife (Apprentice Theme)

Death's bony finger pointed at the cradle. The exam was blond-haired and rosy cheeked. Malady blanched. "Aren't there any older ones?" Death checked his wrist-hourglass meaningfully. Malady felt her grades slipping by the second. The child gurgled. Malady considered. Something flashy, to impress Mas...

The phrase "Remember to smell the roses" died out on planet Demeter. No-Nose Ned was a reminder to respect flower power.

It was all there, in the rhyme. The astronaut surveyed the bovine graveyard. Only the cows had jumped down from the moon.

Re: Igor's Revenge

Welcome and well done first drabble! Loved it. I found the switch from first-to-third person a little weird though. Oh, what's the use? A Masters in English and here I am, sucked back into the family business, kissing up to that idiot. Master, my ass. Igor had seen better experiments in his tenth gr...

I do have a version that blinks every 30 seconds now. But I don't want to use it, at least until ASiD says it's definitely not annoying. Here's a preview, maybe this one will fly.

Removed the animation, as I fear the hammer of ASID more than that of Thor. Hah, that's what I get for making it in a rush. Ah well. Thanks for letting me know!

Re: Trophy Husband (Relocation Theme)

The ending is what cinched it. Very clever. It almost has an elder thing feel because he met her along the beach, had multiple appendages, and then became a astral entity. Lovecraft theme? It was a little inspired by that. Lovecraft on the brain and all. It was originally about a reverse-mermaid (f...
