Re: Drabble Reviews Blog

Yesterday Was A Lie Billed as a neo-noir flick. It's interesting seeing a "blond dame" play the Bogart character, but doesn't take the image far enough for it to be interesting. The existential rambling is ultimately vapid, but might be more meaningful to someone familiar with T.S. Eliot's Prufrock...

Puzzlehead A very odd little movie I found on Netflix streaming thanks to all the other weird stuff I watch. It's a story about an android. The android was given a scattershot of the memories and personality of his creator. When the android attracts the advances of a young woman and the creator fin...

Re: Drabble Reviews Blog

Arrested Development (entire 3 seasons) Arrested Development is a show based on a very dysfunctional family. The title is a reference to the psychological concept. None of the characters have met the characteristics of adults yet. Of course, this includes two teenagers. They have an excuse. The sec...

Re: Trying to hunt down a particular story...

Ok, so the one I'm thinking of is Ben Rosenbaum's (yeah, I always get his first name wrong but it's the only part I remember ... and I get it wrong every time) Biographical Notes to “A Discourse on the Nature of Causality, with Air-planes”. The PodCastle episode is here ... when the Escape Art...

Re: Trying to hunt down a particular story...

Pretty sure that was either EscapePod or Pod Castle. I want to say the author's name was Abe something? I'm trying to track it down, but not remembering the title it's a little hard. Plus EscapePod just went down aside from just the front page. EDIT: Hm, maybe not. Grr. I'm nearly certain I've...

Re: Fan Cast (Dribblecast Decision Making)

Gah, sorry for ignoring Dribblecast for like two weeks, all.

Thanks for getting to the backlog, Strawman.

Swamp volunteered to help out with the Dribblecast so I'm adding him as a Janitor. Many many thanks.

EDIT: Oh, hey. For everyone who was waiting for Dr. Parnassus, it's now on Netflix streaming. I suspect it's also on Amazon VOD, iTunes, or whatever else. I'm too busy with NaNoWriMo to be watching new stuff at the moment so let me know how it goes. Thirst (2009 Korean film) This is one of the...

Re: Twitfic Sizing Tool, on the web.

My preferred rule is that hyphenated words count as one. If I was making a program for wordcounts, the logic would look a bit like this: Check for double and triple hyphens/equals/tildes, mdashes, double/triple periods, and ellipsis marks and replace them with a space. Replace New Lines with spaces ...

Re: If you like hearing my voice on a real microphone...

The H1 is about 100 USD, not counting shipping or any discounts you might get (or the fact that you have to buy memory cards for it). It's a handheld with a slot for SD (might be only micro SD?) and the microphones built in are supposed to be the same ones that are built in to my lovely lovely H4n. ...

Because it is always mentioned last i must Bo you did a great job on the art for this drabblecast. I knew i was in 1973 or 2025 because of the perfect font adaption. "Hair must be neat." Brilliantly simple and non-discriminatory. And both broad and subjective enough that they could fire you for parting it on the wrong side. "Fosdick, I want you to know your sex-change operation has nothing to do with your firing. That would not be legal. No, it's your baldness....
