Re: Drabblecast 138: Kingdom Come by Kay Kenyon

I loved Absent Minded Professor, but really wasn't a fan of Kingdom Come. I thought maybe I did it wrong, so when I did my second listen through (it's become a ritual with me, I can never listen to a Drabblecast just once) I paid extra attention. There was never a point where the main character's ch...

Mundane Horror

She was the only one who noticed. The ringing torture went on for nine long hours, never stopping until 5. Quitting time.

Yep, exactly. Only I hadn't heard that JoCo song yet. I really only know the zombie song and code monkey.

Changes

We knew things would change. They always do, after all. But they stay the same too. Our robot overlords would see to that.

Re: The Bringers of Light

Quite shiny. :o In the first paragraph, you use "gods," but in the second, you use the singular possessive "god's." I'd stick to plural in both cases. I think I like "many many times" better than "many thousand times." Who's to say we don't destroy a thousand fairies every time we pet the cat? Those...

Fortunately for me, I still have the mana to write (some) extra stuff in November, but I forgot the one I was working on in my head at work today. :(

Weeell, if we're looking for a comprehensive test, they should include Discordianism, etc. :D

Done. And so you don't have to go out of your way, it's Raleigh, NC USA for me. Though I still submit that my language is UK English.

Coffee Break

Her heart skipped a beat but it was the coffee maker she heard, not a slow-motion helicopter. There would be no rescue.

P.S. I think the title "Coffee Break" elucidates things well. Oh, hey, I can edit the title.

What I want to say is that what you people are doing to those of us who listen to these things while out in public spaces is just wrong. The victims of my weirdness are used to it already. I think you should listen to more Drabblecasts and possibly do zany things like wear a pink argyle sock on one...

They say it's bacon, but if they say it's made out of turkey, I don't believe them. Same for veggie burgers, tofu burgers, diet soda, lite beer ...

Actually I honestly believe Tweedy can take frank opinion for what it is worth even if it differs from his own opinion, just as I respect the sincerity of his positions which occasionally I may disagree with... Agreed. My post script was for parties unknown. What I've seen of the Drabblecast forums...

Re: There Are No Americans Who Don't Have Health Care

This drabble makes me think. I like thinking. I like this drabble. It's Saturday, and I've slept in, so I'm a little weird right now. Unfortunately, I think our future health care system will be much more dour than this as things are going. Imagine a world where Tommy and Judy's families are forced ...

I had the same first take as Eric did, excepting that I didn't think it was a post from the past. I'm not that smart at this time of the morning (yeah, I know it's not technically morning, but I just woke up so ...). Even though it lends itself to American misunderstanding, the message is fairly muc...

Re: Drabblecast 137- Doubleheader V: Igor Teper

I thought Quantum PI was a beautiful scam. The way I interpreted it, the "PI" sits in his office all day and makes money by keeping 2/3rds of the massive amounts of money sent his way. Or, if people choose not to pay the rest when they get their items, he still gets 1/6th because he got that up fron...

Re: The Pendulum Swings On and On

Wow, shiny new words. I have to out myself as a Harry Potter fan by saying how much this reminds me of a certain scene in The Prisoner of Azkaban ... and slightly of a scene in The Philosopher's Stone. I can't really think of anything else in modern fiction I'm aware of that connects with this conce...

I generally delete most podcasts right after I listen to them.

Not today. I listened to this three times and still haven't deleted it.

The story is hilarious, but the "chatter" at the beginning and end are just as good as the actual stories. "Two kitties?!" Best episode ever.
