Re: The Engines

I was thinking steam engine while I read this. Had a Galaxy Express 999 feel at the end.

Re: Fail by Subscription

I paid to much attention to genre and novelty than to telling a good story with this one. I must meditate on this.

The Littlest Muttaburrasaurus

The Littlest Muttaburrasaurus Mutty was the littlest Muttaburrasaurus. He lived with his herd along the shores of what would become Australia. Mutty was small. His mother weighted four tons. Mutty had a large nose that he could blow like a trumpet when there was danger. One day Mutty was by the rive...

Read Aloud

Read Aloud Joseph didn't listen to me. He turned to a random page in the tome to read it aloud. He looked at me smugly, nothing happened. My explanations fell on deaf ears as he walked out. Thats when he smacked the side of his neck. A tick bit him. Then he grabbed his knee. Joseph pulled his pants ...

Re: Paleo-Drabble

I thought there would be a little confusion with the choppy style and the 100 word limit. I'm surprised how much story is here for 100 words. If I had a few more words it would say "when mother go home tell her no lions by antelope herd".

New Contamination Vector

New Contamination Vector The stake went into the creature’s hart. It was done. The body trashed about the coffin and turned to ash. Abigail and I coughed in the dust. That’s when she started to act strange. The mousy hematologist ran her hands over the slight curves of her body. As if it was the fir...

Day to Day of the Dark Embrace

Day to Day of the Dark Embrace There was a knock on the coffin lid. I checked my watch, it was two in the afternoon. This had better be good. “What is it?” I said lifting the lid slightly. My guardian werewolf named Loopy looked at me in the dim basement light. “Boss the meter reader’s here; he want...

Re: Soft Apocalypse

The soft Apocalypse is the way to go. A slow decline with the possibility of a cultural return. It would weed out the sheepel. I know guys that would love every minute of a collapse. But I like podcasts too much, and the dreams of empire would fill my head until I was killed for food.

Soft Apocalypse

Soft Apocalypse In the dark years the world slowly fell apart. My Wife hated the whole thing. We had no money, internet, jobs or healthcare. We were always short food, the house slowly disintegrated around us. Twice gangs of teen-something brutes thought they could take over a neighborhood; only to ...

The Red Eye

The Red Eye The eye put me here with a beam of red light that shown brighter than I had ever seen. I was told to stand in line with the others. We waited to be called upon, but I thought we would sleep for a long time. Without notice our world spun into action. We were woken from our sleep and I saw...

To day your a man

I'm starting to appreciate the skill needed to write a Drabble. “No.” “No? You're telling your father No?” “I’m 17. I’m not a kid anymore!” He paused. Maybe, just maybe. “Before you storm out of here sit down for a second.” “I’m going to that party next week.” “You want to be an adult, that’s fine.”...
