To Catch a Human

Hrargh-gragh haphazardly stacked the tinned peaches in syrup and corned beef on the empty shelves; prizes certain to catch the eyes of any scavengers. Earlier he had carefully placed a bottle of whiskey half-hidden by an artfully arranged fallen box in the dusty back corner - a rare delight to close...

Re: Drabblecast 200 - The Last Question by Isaac Asimov

Only just got round to listening to this one (I tend to run a couple of months behind, which usually results in Halloween at Christmas, and Christmas in summer), but it was well worth the wait. It was awesome, really well done on this one Norm! It helps that I love classic Sci-fi I'll admit, but thi...

Re: Horseless

I <3 the horse god and use his creations most of the time since its quicker than these damned automobiles (and more importantly, cheaper), but I agree their little bells suck. I have wanted a fog horn on occasion to hoot at the idiot drivers who turn across me, but decided that mounting something us...

Probably not the cold impairing your intelligence, I wasn't quite sure myself when writing it, whether the patient, the doctor, both or neither were insane. I liked the idea of playing with synaesthetic descriptions and so produced this. Incidentally Auraphage wasn't meant to refer to the name of th...

Auraphage

I can feel the cold, obsidian whispers at the edges of my eyes again. I draw my knife slowly, carefully, to avoid alarming them. The doctor observes at the patient in the room dispassionately, watching him twitch impotently in his strait-jacket. I spin, and slash, and spin, and slash, until all tha...

Re: Imaginary Runner

Although fixing the spacing in the trips. It to split it into two words allows you to drop the becoming in the first line description. I like the ideas though, and oddly I like the misspelling of ashfault as well, that I could believe to be deliberate. Also, what do you mean by comma splice scattercat?

I liked it, but then I have always been a fan of the absurd (but then, I listen to the Drabblecast, no big surprises there) and (separately) of the dark, so its not particularly astonishing I am in favour of their combination :)

When Life gives you anything it's probably best to run screaming. Death will doubtless be following with his own gifts. ---------------------------------------------- When Life gives you the abstract made physical, ponder a moment what Terror and Pain will do, when they become manifest. -----------...

Yeah, the twist was still a surprise to me - the urinating in the sink made me think he was drunk, but the baby watching definitely conjured up parent feelings - although had you not written it I may have jumped to a different conclusion. As it is, I wasn't quite sure where it was going, but that ma...

Hellcat, although now I'm wondering whether describing a drabble as radioactive would be a good or bad thing... I'm going to plump with good, in which case the statement applies to both :)

The body lay in the centre of the room, blood pooling around the cracked, twisted sword.

Huh. I guess the pen is mightier.

"What's eating you?" He doesn't say, doesn't even lift his head. That's ok. I answer my own riddle and take another bite. I felt a twinge in my stomach at his funeral. It might have been guilt, but then again I had left the canapés out overnight. I hope you don't mind my drawing inspiration from yo...
