Re: Drabble Reviews Blog
Interesting to read the reviews of Tron: Legacy. I was a big Tron bobo back in the day and re-watched the original lately and agree it held up fairly well. I also dumped a ton of quarters in the Tron game at the Dinkytown Dome in Minneapolis in 1986 and had the high score for a long time. I was mild...

What?!! The Mexicans get all the good monsters. First Chupacabra and now this! (Oh, sorry for the loss of life though)

Re: Ancient Giant Penguin
I just finished the book "The Third Chimpanzee" . In one chapter the author talks about how almost every continent had numerous forms of giant fauna at one time before they did themselves in or humans did them in. Gawd, it would be cool to have this giant stuff around still, but I guess they would p...

Re: Drabblecast 182- Trifecta XIV
A solid outing this week. I probably liked Charachter Flu the best. Toaster of the Gods got me hungry for toast but now I see that I have no bread. Argh! I had heard Evil Robot Monkey somehwere before. How cool was it to switch over to Escape Pod after Drabblecast to hear more wacky Norm?! Awesome!

Wow, this story rocked. Creepiest ventriloqust ditty since Twilght Zone's "The Dummy". Narration was perfect. Will listen again.

Re: Drabblecast 177- Floaters by David D. Levine
I remember the first time I noticed my floaters, how you could never see them directly because they seemed to move with your eyeball. They freaked me out until I figure out it was just harmless crap riding on your eye. Good story, loved the floaters smart-assed remark at the end about the paintings....

Loved this one. Creepiness around every corner. At first I wasn't too thrilled about the ending, I thought it was too abrupt but after second listen I thought it worked.

Re: Drabble Reviews Blog
Saw Inception as well, and it has that District 9 afterglow. I know it's good, that rare bird, an original, intelligent sci-fi movie - I'm struggling with 'how good.' My instinct is to slap on a 9 out of 10; the 'first watch' was rapture. But so many sections are burdened with explanation and estab...

The Drabblecast + Nirvana = nirvana! This is my favorite episode of the year so far. Can't get enough of the cheeky Nirvana background music, and Go Beep to the tune of Rape Me floored me. Genius! Just perfect all the way around. Yow!

I'm pretty sure James Cameron found the actors for the first Titanic movie via Craigslist also.

Glad I checked in on the Drabble Reviews Blog. I was considering seeing all three aforementioned movies (Splice, Greek, McGruber) but I think I'll wait for them to show in the dollar theater or on DVD. Not a good time to hit the cinema.

Re: Podcasts I like or don't like
I disagree about Star Ship Sofa. Tony's editorials don't bother me at all and I like the extra features in addition to the main fiction piece(s). I think his stories have been much better than Escape Pod's over the last six months. He does tend to go for longer stories and I can see where the length...

Re: Drabblecast 162- Birdwatcher by Garth Upshaw
Everyone seems to assume that the egg kills. What if is just moves you to an alternate reality? Oh I don't think the egg kills. But it does take you someplace else- leaving the earth clear and ready for it's new occupants. Yeah, like in Simak's novel "City". Loved this one. Creepy and bizarre with ...

Re: Drabblecast 167- Snowman's Chance in Hell by Robert Jeschone
Great episode. I was laughing like hell even before the main story. Ducks are just screwed up beasts, hard to image they have a bizarre, dark side when you see them floating around with their cute little ducklings. Loved the human origins story. Amazing that that the original humans were created by ...

OK, this is kind of lame but I love asparagus and it is cool to see some hard-ass asparagus kicking butt in Japan. Pave over me, will you?

Loved this episode. Drabblenews was off-the-charts funny. One of the best ever I would say. Absolutely classic. The Drabble was great. Short, sweet, and horrifying. The main fiction wasn't one of my favorites of the year but it was disturbing and kept my attention as I drove through a horrific storm...

Re: Drabblecast 161- Higher than Usual
Wow, this story was great! Maybe my favorite of the year so far. Loved the narration and how the tone of the story escalated in to chaos. It made me think of the opening scene in The Meaning of Life. I can't tell you how many times at work I have wanted to strangle someone in another department with...
