Re: Drabblecast 190 The Wheel

"The Wheel" was fantastic. I'm not familiar with Mr. Wyndham's work, but that's about to change. I really appreciate Norm's efforts to explore older works as well, seeking pieces that highlight different styles and talents that are also great DC fits. I expected the grandfather to help the boy escap...

Re: Drabblecast 191 - Primary Pollinator

This was a fun listen, an interesting take on how devistating it can be to introduce a non-native species into an environment. I also appreciate the concept of low-risk offenders being offered "opportunities", and how shit really does fall. The collection scene with Scotty felt over the top for me, ...

Re: DC 170 & 171- Mongoose by Sarah Monette and Elizabeth Bear

My husband and I both enjoyed "Mongoose." His only comnplaint was the pronounciation of Nagaina, but it didn't bother me at all. I don't feel there was a need for a coda to this story. I was willing to accept Mongoose's relationship with the main character at face value, even if Mongoose didn't have...

Re: Drabblecast 172- Trifecta XIII

Trifecta's are more often miss than hit with me, but I thoroughly enjoyed this set-up. The story arrangement itself contributed to the flow. Moose Fork was a terrific bit of whimsy, Six Drabbles a fine poetic piece(s), and Grim an ode to Prachett if ever I heard one. Well done! Sandra Odell smodell1...

Re: Drabblecast 161- Higher than Usual

A fun listen all around. Happpy Birthday, Robot! reminds me of my oldest son when he was seven or eight and I could have wished this game was around to help him both at home and at school. "Higher Than Usual" was a fun, high energy listen. Dan's reading was top notch with just the right amount of Br...

Re: Drabblecast 156- Going to the Chapel by Sandra Odell

Thanks for stopping by! Was this your first foray into the weird, or do you have a collection of these goodies? The weird and I are old friends, but it doesn't stop by for tea and kidlets as often as it used to. I was only trying to be honest when I mentioned its breath, but...is it my fault if wei...

Re: Drabblecast 156- Going to the Chapel by Sandra Odell

Thank you for the comments about the story. And thank Norm and Lauren for a wonderful production. As for the groom exploding, while the species in question is known for its diverse bio-tolerance, Amilee was the first human biped to be introduced into the gene pool, and the groom could not stand the ...
