Mr Tweedy, I don't think the way Steve has approached Escape Pod is conservative-as-opposed-to-liberal. It's simply a result of what can happen when somebody has a dream and they work to see it happen. Liberals do that as well as conservatives. Their dreams might be different, but the passion and dr...

When I say 'I'm a Wii man' I mean that if I were to purchase a current gen console, it would probably be the Wii. I do have an original PlayStation, but none of the controllers work, so that doesn't get much love any more. Of course, if we were to go buying a console now I would probably be outvoted...

well, some good news behind the scenes that may brighten the forums up from just the "Norm, Cammoblammo, Mr Tweedy Show"...not that you guys aren't super cool or anything. Can't talk for the Tweedster, but you sure got that bit right. And don''t worry about the Xbox. I'm more of a Wii man myself. H...

Yeah, I liked this one. Not only did I find myself putting in the sound effects myself, I even unconsciously added a soundtrack. I've been listening to a lot of Pseudopod flash lately, and they do a lot of that. I'd go so far as to record it, but the only instrument I play well is the trumpet. Does ...

LOL! Yeah. A few months ago I would have been all in there stirring things up, but I got tired of it being me vs. everybody all the time. Yeah, I used to have the same problem. Then my wife said to one day "You know Cammoblammo, have you ever thought you might just be wrong?" Talk about missing the...

Where's everyone gone?
Crikey it's quiet around here. I started coming to this forum a month or two ago and there seemed to be plenty of action. Okay, not a lot, but enough to keep me away from the housework. I sign up, post a couple of times... and everything goes dead. It's like queues. I can get on the end of a really ...

I would prefer to get an mp3 download, whether it's through a separate feed or whatever. Simply put -- my* iPod Shuffle doesn't know what to do with an m4a file, and I'm not about to spend more than I have on a portable music device. Mp3, for better for worse, is at least guaranteed to play on every...

I don't what kind of girls you hang out with cammo, but I get a bit piqued when a man injects poison into my neck, lays his egg in my belly then buries me alive in his burrow - and I'm usually up for anything! You know, the more girls I meet the luckier I realise I am to have married the wonderful ...

On the other, it wasn't a story: No plot, no characters, no particular setting. It was just a description of a concept for a story, notes. Yah, I think that would disengage me normally, but concept-based stuff seems to work alright in flash fiction, at least IMO, and that's why you usually see more...

Re: And the winner is... not the thing in my bowel!
Or when I'm tempted to be grumpy because I drive around in a 1993 Civic, I think "I need to sing the Jelly Song." It's almost (hesitating to use the word) a spiritual lesson. ...Plus the song bugs the crap out of my wife, which makes it fun to hum every so often. You're not suggesting your wife jux...

And the winner is... not the thing in my bowel!
Choosing one was hard to do. In the end, I asked myself, Which one has affected my life the most? I liked Jelly Park, and I did find myself whistling the tune later that day. Funnily enough, I was sitting in my car while I listened to it, and I dozed off soon after. When I awoke I was still parked i...

Mind controlling Wasps
You thought mind-controlled ants are cool? Check out the Emerald cockroach wasp. This wasp is nasty, at least if you're a cockroach. First, the wasp selectively paralyses the legs of the roach and then, in a somewhat more delicate operation, knocks out the escape reflex. That's right, the wasp perfo...
