Re: Drabblecast 226 - The Heroics of Interior Design

It shows who's online at the moment. With that understanding, re-read that exchange and it's quite funny! :D Haha, good stuff. I thought I was special or something! I had kind of the inverse of that at another forum not too long ago. Many of the topics had stars next to them, but none of the thread...

I don't see it under yours!

So maybe everybody has it marking their own posts in case you forget who you are? I sense an after-school-special message coming about how we all think we're alone, but we're all in this together (or something).

Re: Drabblecast 227 – The Star

There's a difference between understanding his actions and understanding his motives. His actions would be the set-up of physical laws, right? So understanding them is science. Who done that, and why, is the metaphysical part. I guess that depends on what you consider to be God's actions. Rather th...

Does anyone happen to know why my forum posts have a little gold figure by my name? Is that for staff members or something? Just curious. :)

Re: Drabblecast 227 – The Star

Like tbaker, I don't think this story is meaning to say that God doesn't exist. After all, if he doesn't the coincidence of the timing is too much to accept. No, I think it is saying that we can't understand God. Perhaps God only has one spacefaring race at a time, and he kills each one off to daisy...

Re: Drabblecast 229 - Singularity Knocks

Looking at drabblecast.org, under the episode it lists the music as the Avett Brothers? It gives a link. Check 'em out and see if they're who you're looking for! Welcome to the forums! No kidding? I love Avett Brothers. Especially their song that I think is titled "The Ballad of Love and Hate". Reg...

Re: Drabblecast 228 - A Fairy Tale of Oakland

This must be the year of the Krampus. I'm pretty sure I've never heard of him before this year (I have read and written stories about Santa's other dark helper, Black Pete, but not Krampus), and now suddenly there were 3-4 Krampus stories on the podcasts I listen to. This one was reasonably good, bu...

Re: Drabblecast 223 - Bearing Fruit

Not my kind of story, sorry. I always feel toyed with when I get into a story, then the ending comes along and it's isn't really anything to do with the yarn I got wrapped up in. I threw the book Atonement across the room when I read that thing. This reminded me of that. I hope your iPod (or comput...

Re: Drabblecast 226 - The Heroics of Interior Design

I really enjoyed this one. All the comics focus on supers who have powers with some kind of practical use, but if they're just random mutations from nature/radiation/whatever, then what happens to all the people who get powers that aren't useful? This is that story. Which reminds me of one thing I l...

Is the term you're looking for "planned obsolescence"? Yes!! The only phrase that came to mind yesterday was "planned convalescence" which really doesn't fit. You can definitely see the effects of planned obsolescence in many manufactured stuff, especially small electronics. Before my current phone...

Tumbleweed blowin through these forums the past week. Is everyone else workin on a CD too? Nope, just getting caught up on forums after getting caught up on various podcast's stories. I'm working my way back through! Tumbleweeds? Where? I need some in the new Zelda game. Wow, I am so out of touch t...

Re: Drabblecast 225 - Trifecta XIX

I'm not sure if the author meant me to wonder this, but I wonder what the fairy did with the baby she took. Do we know that the exchange did happen? I recall it being left in at indecision, then a view years later. If I recall, the child still had issues. This could be the original kid, who grew be...

Re: Drabblecast 225 - Trifecta XIX

Great Trifecta. "David is Six" very wonderfully captured a child's POV, how something that can be SO IMPORTANT to you is completely trivial to everyone else. The seventh birthday isn't a particularly momentous one, nothing much changes, you're already in school, etc.... But from his point of view it...

Re: Drabblecast 223 - Bearing Fruit

Weeeiiiiirrrrdd. This was fairly good, but rather long for its content, it just kept going. I found it strange that everyone took the impregnating mango so nonchalantly, but it seemed to work with a light fairy tale world style.

Re: Drabblecast 221 - Year of the Rabbit

A good creepy mood piece, very enjoyable (though I didn't get to listening to it until a week after Halloween). I didn't think that the interrogator was an alien. I think that the darkness itself has turned malevolent, but not intelligent. It is isolating and sealing away everything it finds (perhap...

Woohoo, my name on the Drabblecast airwaves! Ummm,, anyway, regarding the "story". Fluffy, but there's nothing wrong with fluffy. This was light and short and a lot of fun, perfect for flash material. It gives a very plausible explanation for many oddities in our world, though I stress that it does ...

"Bad Habit" I could've done without. The idea of a vigilante nun was fun, but it was too heavy on the penis descriptions that were used to such a degree that they distracted from the vigilante nun herself. I know what a penis looks like, can we move on? "Tags" I really enjoyed, a commentary on how w...
