The List

I woke, my stomach writhing in knots. Today was the bigger than big, day. I would sink or swim, I would be on the top or forever crushed below the feet of the victor. Thrills of barely controlled panic came to the surface, making me relive my efforts, and hope that they had not been pitiful in judgm...

Re: Against All Odds

It took me a while to get this one, and a bit of research, but this is a great idea for a drabble! A defect has made him invincible!

And There He Was, God Help Us

I was on my way. I had the sound, the look, the moves. I was poised to become the biggest thing to shake the industry since the Beatles. Success was as easy as breathing for me, my first album a top-ten for three weeks. I quaffed my signature hair, preparing for a new crowd of screaming fans, tossed...

Re: Space Camp

Cool idea, but I was a little confused by the end. Maybe a mention of aliens, or the abduction itself? It felt like this piece was lacking a little bit of cohesiveness

Re: I'd Watch It

Kind of in the classic horror-mystery genre. Very traditional. I like the descriptions though.

Bloody Campaign

The senator strode into her office, looking dead tired. It was well after midnight, her perfect blonde hair askew. She collapsed in her office chair. The campaign trail was exhausting, especially for reelection. All of the smiling and waving and shaking hands as pictures snapped made her a little te...

The Great Mouser

The cats weren’t happy. The supply of mice and rats and other small rodents had dried up. It had started month ago. An arrival of a huge van, with many boxes carried in by muscled humans into the human dwelling. The humans talked about a strange human living there. Whiskers was out hunting. The moon...

Daydreams

Staring at the whiteboard, I let my mind wander to those daydreams, vivid with color and detail, my only defense against utter boredom. My mind was free and away, in some distant solar system where the strange indigenous creatures had never heard of school- “Mr. Leonard?” A voice cut into my escapis...

Re: Drabblecast 174- The Fantasy Jumper by Will McIntosh

I had to listen to this one twice to really get what it was about, partly because the first time around I was trying to wash my extremely displeased cat. Once I got into the story, it really drew me in to the fantasy jumper's predicament, as well as a future world that made gory pseudo-violence a fa...

Re: Drabblecast 173- Go Beep by Aliya Whiteley

I loved this story- it was unique and very interesting, while at the same time very relatable. It feels just like something those "damn crazy young'uns next door" would do. Plus I was going beep in my head for the next day and a half. Overall, another point for the already awesome Drabblecast!
