Crouching in the Hallway

In my early years I was made to crouch in the hallways with my classmates, because this is what we will do when the Russians drop A-bombs on us. A whole generation of kids grew up knowing that sometimes the world doesn't end as predicted. As a result, we got snarky and skeptical when various Malthus...

Re: Something in the Storm

The last line is kinda necessary. It's the previous sentence, "deep and smooth" that needs to convey why "you should have been more specific".

Re: Countryside Walk

Don't mind me, I'm just the atheist at the tent revival. The most common element in nature is irony. Everyone with an opinion produces carbon emissions, so I was in favor of killing off as many opinionated people as possible, (myself excluded, of course) until someone pointed out that would deprive ...

Re: Countryside Walk

OK, I'll bite... It's not about "going back" to some non-existent Golden Era. It's about recognising that we share this planet with thousands of other species, that it's not ours to do with as we will, regardless of the consequences, that we are now able to destabilize things in all sorts of ways, ...

Re: Countryside Walk

For millions of years, this planet was extremely hard on us. We finally get good at adaptation, and now people want to go back? Well, exCUUUUSE us!

Re: Overworked

I think having Reaper reinforcements leads one to wonder if the Reapers had a hand in farming for the harvest, spreading the fertilizer, planting the seed, irrigating the fields... and in their home planet they are preparing the equivalent of our Thanksgiving holiday, with a big cornucopia of bodies...

Since you're new, we'll be lenient here. But please ask yourself if it is moral to achieve exactly 100 characters with words like ooohhhagghh.

Re: DC Merch?

Thinking Now from Then. Then could be for DC fundraising. Now might be break-even for DC marketing, fan involvement. The chest-burster maternity tee would be certain to start lots of conversations among a key potential DC demographic, ie women who have alien beings (and future subscribers!) growing ...
