I don't get it, but I like it because it appeals to my tragic/romantic streak, which is broad.

Re: Drabblecast 118- The Relativity Prison by Igor Teper

The sequel was appalling garbage. A sequel for the sake of a sequel, a $$$ sequel, soulless, uncreative and packed to bursting with silly clichés. Avoid. I thought of this story the other day when I was engrossed in a Facebook debate on Calvinism. (Calvin was whack, yo.) Calvinism is the relativity ...

Re: You thought ducks were evil/no one talks about the otter

I never fail to be impressed by evolution's complete lack of ability to explain anything. Evolution has one definition of "success": Gene duplication. The gene that duplicates is successful. The gene that does not is a loser. Considering this, what should we expect to see in a species that is polygy...

There is, evidently, still a little niche for quality in the media ecosystem.

But you didn't think so at the time, did you? There is money there.

I predict we will see a Sucker Punch/Duke Nukem Forever combo pack at Christmas time. Moms will buy it.

Re: Drabblecast 200 - The Last Question by Isaac Asimov

I was actually feeling a bit disappointed when I read this story in preparation for the artwork. It seemed dry and old to me. But hearing the superb production made it come alive in a way I was not at all expecting. The music, the voice acting, the timing of the delivery of the narration, everything...

Re: Drabble Reviews Blog

SuckerPunch is a movie scientifically engineered to help adolescent boys masturbate. That's what I got from the trailer, anyway. The producers of such movies generally say things like "Blah blah blah female empowerment." (Because there's nothing more empowering than killing zombies while wearing a s...

Re: Drabble Reviews Blog

It depends on how much one paid, I suppose. For $5, I thought it was decent entertainment. If I had paid $14, though, that would have been pretty disappointing.

Re: Drabble Reviews Blog

Saw "Battle: Los Angeles."

It was worth the $5 I paid to see it and the 2 hours it took to watch.

And that's pretty much all there is to say about it.

Re: ....and then my neighbours started screaming.

That is so how it is. In my old apartment, children used to play in an empty lot right under my window. You would hear the most horrible screams, pitiful pleas for help, for mercy, to "Stop! Stop!" even cries of "Someone call the police!" At first I would go to the window to check. After a while I d...
