Re: Drabblecast 405 – Wet Fur
I had to listen to this episode (again?) to understand it. It really is an impressive piece of fiction. This week, my spouse's mother had to euthanize her elderly cat. She now has 1 cat left that's very standoffish and it hurts my mother-in-law's feelings. We have 3 black cats that I know we'll outl...

Re: Drabblecst 402- The Moving Stars
This week, we had at least two Amber Alerts here in the Greater Toronto Area. Dammit, this episode did an (unintended?) gut punch with me.... ...especially when the army base and aliens release a radio alert. I was expecting the station attendant to tackle the woman and the baby/ambassador. Or worse...

Re: Drabblecast Director's Cut: Sing
I'm pleased this episode was revived and had a post-commentary from the author. It reminds me of the cliche.... the road to hell is paved with good intentions and all. I have a conflicting opinion about the 'do no harm'... 'savage garden'... 'Prime Directive' ethic. This story nailed it on the head ...

Re: Drabblecast 400 & 401- We Who Stole the Dream
This 2-parter made me squirm (part 1) and then made me reflect about how power changes creatures (part 2) . The story reminded me about a novel, called Past Watch (by Orson Scott Card). Now, I know our man Orson, flew off the rails with his homophobia & extreme religious views... but the novel does...

Re: Drabbleclassics 29- Primary Pollinator (191)
The story had a gloriously quirky, finished up with a "underdog win" at the end. Mind you, the story reminded me about some of the odder characteristics of skunk cabbage. Their yellow flower cone has a biological 'heating element' that allows the plant to poke through the thawing Spring soil... and ...

Re: Drabblecast 394 - Christmas Special "Dirty Santa"
I don't think Norm gets enough credit for his episode intros. This one was fantastic. Truly inspired. Even though I listened to the episode in February it made me feel all Christmassy inside. And the story was a nice blast from Drabblecast past. Loved the skull Xmas sweater. They're one of the reas...

Re: Drabblecast 396 - Trifecta: Losses & Sacrifices
Holy carp! These were 3 sharp tales. The body horror in... the tale of the phantom elevator victim was gloriously cringe-worthy... and in a GOOD way.  +1 for my Drabblecast, eh. Edit... Um, I just scrolled up to see the art for this episode. Holy s##t!    ...

Whoah boy. This episode sailed right over my head. Fruits? Nuts? Nope. I couldn't get into the tale. I struggled with it... and gave up a third of the way in. Pity.

I just listened to our January 14th instalment. What did listeners think of it? Did you sympathise with the protagonist?

Re: Drabblecast 394 - Christmas Special "Dirty Santa"
That was a fantastic story. The last line... "it was the thought that counts"... was a brutal kick in the head. The protagonist sure as hell deserved the gift... and to have it stolen. What... The... F##k.
It was pure Drabblecast. Me gusta.

That was one of the oddest episode to listen to. The artwork didn't do it justice. A wiggling mass.... guhahhhhh! Nice.

Re: Drabblecast 389 - Night of the Living POTUS
This was a fantastic episode! The commentary after the story... AND THAT SONG. OH, LORDY... THAT SONG. I didn't know it has lyrics. It was an oddly hopeful story... Each president had to process the accomplishments and failures of his predecessors. It was a hell of a perspective-generator for the du...

I'm pleased to see Drabblecast revive itself. From ~2015 to the Spring of 2018, I was getting VERY disappointed. Yes, I thought I was being taken for a ride (money coming out of PayPal by ??? for ???). Norm, when you left Escape Artists, I got frustrated, decided to cut my losses, and cancelled my m...

I'm back in the fold! Drabblecast #1 ...gritty reboot... July 24, 2018. Pre-launch Relaunch: Bases Covered . I listened to that and hustled over to PayPal. I can't wait for some new-fangled crowd-funded nor kick-starter option. 10 US bucks a month (~$13-14 CDN) is what you get . Effective immediatel...

Re: Still alive?
Sweet FSM... when my iTunes account machine when 'bing... new drabblecast episode', I did a double-take. This is indeed good news. I was a $10/month donor in 2014... and am considering reactivating it.
