Re: Drabblecast 201 - Trifecta XV

I loved this one! I particularly enjoyed Killipedes - perhaps because I work with physicians.

Boy, Norm is really struggling to give birth to episode 200...as though it were an alien creature, clawing its way out of-- Well, anyway, can't wait to hear it! (sticky and slick with afterbirth)

Re: Drabblecast 195- A Matter of Size by Robert Jeschonek

I saw the parallels in that regard but to call it a point-for-point parody of Watchmen, I think is not entirely accurate I agree that’s it not a blow-by-blow retelling. It wouldn’t be worth reading if it was. Besides, Watchmen is a huge thing, and this is just a little miniature. *snerk* Also, I do...

Re: Drabblecast 195- A Matter of Size by Robert Jeschonek

:headesk: Man I missed that totally! Great catch Abbie! Without the point of reference, the story does seem gratuitous. I was sitting here scratching my head, thinking, why are people acting so blind-sided? But then I realized no one at all had mentioned Watchmen. Doesn't "Little Lord Fauntler...

Re: Drabblecast 195- A Matter of Size by Robert Jeschonek

I can't believe that no one on this thread has mentioned that this story is a miniature (hahah) spoof on Watchmen ! The narrative voice and attitude have got Rorschach written all over them, and the plot is the same. If you realized that, then you knew who the villain was (at least the super hero vi...

Re: Admin, where are you?!

I've had an explosion of spam on my own Freeforums site. Someone has cracked their squiggly letter real-person-test screen. I've had to block all new accounts until I OK them. This user "GigaHooker" was one of the attempted new registrants. Ban it. It's a bot. (Unless it can prove really q...

Re: Drabblecast 193 - Scales

Awesome episode! The narrator was superbly matched with the story. However, I'd like to point out the one place where people are happy - nay, anxious - to be called "average," "typical," and "standard." Medical context. "Normal" is their favorite word. The las...

Welcome, Pam! You've found the best short story podcast. It's all downhill from here. ;) Actually, there are some other good ones, just not *this* good. I didn't realize at first that a "courgette" is a zucchini. :D One minute you're going to bed, next minute you're battling a bear in your house with a vegetable. I hope she won some kind of gardening prize.

Re: Drabblecast 179- The Red Bride by Samantha Henderson

That was a wonderful, complicated piece of work, but the delivery made it pop. Fantastic reading! I can tell that even as text on the page, the narrator has an incredibly strong voice. I particularly liked the places where she's trying to describe her struggle with translating her story. She's tryin...
