Abject depression does not a good story make. If I was meant to emotionally connect with these characters, then I needed a lot more information. If this was meant to be a story about the struggles of the human condition, I'll pass. Life is hard enough without listening to a fictional unresolvable si...

After having a really bad day, I saw this new drabblecast and had a listen. What a joy!

I'm not sure why, but somehow it restored my faith in humanity, and brought a smile to my face.

Thanks for bringing a little more perspective to this world.

Not as good as the first trifecta, but Performance Anxiety was great. And a wonderful conclusion to the scam spam contest. Good work!

Yes, but this is an old staple of Scifi. Focus on how someone could react, not necessarily the way a smart person would react. IMHO, many Twilight Zone episodes fall directly in the same category. They often focus on the worst side of humanity under stressful situations, rather than letting cooler h...

Doh, I totally forgot to mention I loved the drabble this week! I couldn't help picturing Terry Pratchett's death character. "BOWLING? WELL, ALRIGHT SUSAN, SINCE IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY..." Ah yes, but then Death wouldn't have been smiling. And he would have stopped to pet the alleycat. The drabble was ...

I-81

I would like to nominate ep 16, I-81 by Luke Coddington. I don't care if he's on staff. :-)

After reading all the various reactions, I have to say that this is why I like flash fiction. Everybody here seems to have had a different interpretation of what the story was saying. A novel, on the other hand, would usually describe exactly what happens in its entirety, the whole while trying to c...

Local news

In the Sunday, January 6 2008 issue of the Journal and Courier, this appeared in the letters section, talking about the fact that Lafayette/West Lafayette had no murders in 2007. Question: There were no homicides in 2007. To what do you attribute this bit of good news? And how does this affect your ...

Drabblecast 045 - The Fine Point

http://www.drabblecast.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/drabblecast_045_david_steffen-250x250.jpg Feature: The Fine Point by Gary Cuba I liked this piece. Good writing, concise plot. There were many things which felt unrealistic in the "personal decisions" department of this story. However, the fact the the author stayed away from the overdone time paradoxes and just let the scientist die, brought a nice warm fuzzy feeling to the piece.

Seems like a reworked Mr. Scrooge.

The story was awfully... ordinary... for a Drabblecast.

Well I started podcasting via iTunes beginning with ep 12. So it wasn't too hard to listen to the back episodes. But I certainly agree, putting download links to the stories would let folks take back episodes with them on their ipods.

If one were to get pregnant from a BJ, I could see a sick mind writing this as a possible outcome.

Not that there are any sick minds here!
