Just busy, busy as always. Focusing on software development, working on my airplane project when I have time. I'd like to write a few more drabbles but haven't been hit with any ideas that inspire me. Had an idea this morning though about people plugging into insect minds to experience insect sex. Seems like a unique enough idea that I might be able to do something with it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story- it left me the feeling of wanting to run to the library or bookstore to get more from the series! I want more of Mongoose and Irizarry...

Hello pre-syrup! Welcome to the forums.
Mongoose just made it into Round 4 of the Super Animal Deathmatch Competition, so you'll see more of him there.

Um...Mongoose is a girl. Which makes sense. Girls fight dirty.

Thanks for correcting me before she heard me. That would be ugly.

Hi Maplesugar, good to see you and your delicious candy avatar over here. :)

Anyhoo,
This story was awesome! My favorite Drabblecast to date. It used Carroll and Lovecraft to the best possible degree, giving nods to each, but not being a slave to their material. Mongoose was a great character, and I loved the hierarchy of transdimensional beasties, including the names. I think it was the right move to leave the Bandersnatch off-screen, so that we could just imagine how bad it could be based on its inferiors in the hierarchy.

So far I think this is the only multi-part Drabblecast story I've liked. With others, I just felt they were too long to deserve multiple episodes, and they didn't keep my interest up. But this one filled out its space very nicely, and I'd be happy to see the further adventures of mongoose.

My only questions are: when can I expect to see the Anime cartoon of this? And the video game FPS version?

My second listening to a story, which is rare

Prompting me to do a search for more, such as Boojum, which you can get as a PDF

I found the world intriguing, and really enjoyed the story, production and obvious mirth and love put in

So much enjoyed that I registered on this forum to make my first post

Yeah, I've listened to this one a lot. I'm also really intrigued by the world in this story and wish there was more too it. One of my favorites - up there with Cinderlands and The Second Conquest of Earth. These three stories actually inspired me to start writing again after a long, long time.
:D

Really late to the party here, folks but -- wow. What a <expletive> fantastic story! I've not heard a (sci-fi) story so good in quite a while. And of course, the top-notch production makes it even better. The interesting thing to me is that collaborations can often end up pretty bland, sort of a compromise between what both of the contributors would usually do. This one didn't feel like that at all. It has sharply focused plot taking place in a well-realised universe. Loved it!

I think I missed most of the Lovecraft refs, though (apart from Eric Zahn).

I'm pleased I've finally got to this story, and entertained it's the last of the three "Mongoose" universe stories I've heard on the 'Cast, thanks to my inside-out archive crawl. I was worried that, having heard the other two episodes, the in-universe twists would be spoiled, but either I've got a terrible memory or Monette and Bear did a great job creating new material for each story. Anyway, loved this one from start to finish. I loved getting a closer look at some of the critters in this universe - the Cheshire, toves, and wraths. Just awesome.
