"What are you doing tonight?" asked Julian, with a sly smirk on his face. He knew that Winston was prone to doing the most outrageous things.
Winston smiled in return. "You know me Rick, nothing too risky!"...

Re: Drabblecast 030 - 2084
Hehe, another good classic type of odd story for the Drabblecast. I can totally see our future going here by the year 2084. Funny how each generations of what is safe and what is not shift because of technology and social pressures. Both entertaining and a worthy commentary on this trend.
Re: Drabblecast 030 - 2084
I think a lot of people have explored the idea of a future where we're freaked out and scared of things that we today see as commonplace. Apples, scary! Wish it had done a bit more with this concept, but not terribly written overall.
Re: Drabblecast 030 - 2084
Actually, this reminded me a lot of one of my early stories (Grass) in which some neo-hippies of a distant future decide to grow grass just for the retro cool awesomeness of it, only to find it a painful and scary endeavor. I hope my story had a bit more of a twist to it than this one, but it probably didn't... Sigh. Well, it was an early effort.
