Captain Confederation was annoyed when he got off the elevator and it showed. It would have been so simple and logical for him to land on the roof of the Superhero Administration Centre, or in the ample grounds surrounding it, but these alternatives were no longer open to him. Last month Transport Canada had proposed a regulation requiring superheroes to take off and land from helipads unless actually fighting crime, and for some inexplicable reason the Department of Superhero Affairs had gone along with it.

I'm very sad because I had been looking forward to this story forever, because of the drabble prompt and cat with blue fur story soon to follow and whatnot. Well, I got the "twist" in the story the moment
Spoiler:
the character asked, "Why do you think someone hacked my computer," half way through. :a little tear falls on my keyboard:

I still reckon a key motivator for super heroes/villains is the excuse to strike nonchalant poses in a body-hugging spandex outfit. ;)

A band of supervillains running Ottawa would explain a lot of our current government's policies. Evil geniuses usually cover their tracks better, though....

Fun story. Not quite Mark Twain levels of satire but I could hear echoes of such.

The story would work better without the "twist", IMO. Real life governments act the very same way, and much worse, and
Spoiler:
no super-hyphen-villians are required.
It's the government system that we've allowed evil to corrupt -- it makes good people (even if those are rare in government) do bad things.
The real superhero would (re)craft a government that makes bad legislators and bureaucrats do good things.

does anyone know what the song was at the end. it sounds like paul mccartney but thats impossible right :?:

i love stories like this. when they put such hyped up characters like super heros or other characters that people may take more seriously are put in real world situations. i loved it!

Ditto. I also really appreciated the theme from The Incredibles at the end!
