Drabblecast 389 - Night of the Living POTUS

Post by ZimmermansWay » Tue Dec 04, 2018 11:13 pm

Feature: Night of the Living POTUS by Adam-Troy Castro

• Genre: Horror

Thursday, November 15th, 2018

Every President Elect has "the briefing." You know the one. The President opens a binder and learns the awful truths of the world. They all have to learn the same lesson.

This is the story of one President who learns the horrifying truth and must fight to save humanity. And Democracy itself.

Story Excerpt:
All Presidents have the same lesson to learn, and they all learn it early on the first full morning of their respective Administrations.

At that point they have already taken their Oaths, already declared their principles to the nation, already enjoyed the first round of celebrations, already settled in to what they imagine will be an Administration marked by great words and historic deeds.
Produced: Norm Sherman
Episode Art: Tristan Tolhurst

This was a fantastic episode! The commentary after the story... AND THAT SONG. OH, LORDY... THAT SONG. I didn't know it has lyrics. It was an oddly hopeful story...
Spoiler:
Each president had to process the accomplishments and failures of his predecessors. It was a hell of a perspective-generator for the dude. Now, what the States needs is another Ju-Jitsu {Teddy R. version 2.0} or boxer to make the future presidents extra humble!
More please!

Your spoiler nailed it for me. I was super hesitant to consider a story about a president or anything seemingly political, but fell in love with this one when I realized that it's real agenda was a lot more fun than the lame ones I had been concocting and presuming at first.

Really liked this one! It had the right amount of violence and scholarly humor. The Nixon China reference made me laugh out loud. Well done.

I can't believe I remembered my forum password after 7 years! I don't think I've used this account since the 2012 Mega Beast Death Match tournament, Cricket Bat we hardly knew ye.

Loved this story, the Clear And Present Danger line had me rolling.

Reading the title, I wasn't sure about this one either, but was glad I let it play out. I was expecting it to stop before the presidents who are still living. It didn't really make sense, but that didn't really matter. I laughed at the part where he was worried about his wife: he loved her but not like in a silly romantic way, of course not.
