Not bad for my first post, eh?

I remember hearing thin when it was on Escape Pod, and I liked it then. With Norm reading it, I now love it.

Seriously Norm, in my book your reading voice is up there with Stephen Fry and John Hodgman.

i listened to this while i had H1N1 and drifted in and out while it was playing. it gave me Charlie Brown nightmares. i listened to it again while not sick and was amazed that a new fairy tale could be re told in a way that brought new depth to Charlie Brown. i struggle to call it a fan fiction, because so many fan fiction is so awkward, but that is what it is. love the podcast will listen until i get spam scammed.

I heard this first over on EP. As over there, I thought it was a very clever Shulz/Lovecraft mashup, but that the ending didn't really work as part of the whole for me. Everything else borrows from Peanuts but puts it into the context of a different era, a different world, different aged characters, but the Lucy at the end was pretty much verbatim from the comic strip, including her price--the end would've worked better for me if she were a part of this world, it would've been funny while being part of the world instead of just seeming like a cheap gag.

I will certainly admit that! In fact, it got my vote in the first round of Drabblecast Awards.

A Bump for a Drabbleclassic!

With it being the week of Halloween, I think it is a perfect time to resurrect one of the all time best Drabbleclassics...#136 - The Great Old Pumpkin. This is an incredible story and wonderful reading by Norm! And how can you go wrong with a story that blends the styles of the two most terrifying horror authors of the twentieth century...Lovecraft and Shultz! Let's bring it back!

This is a favorite of mine and since it's the Pumpkin's special day once again I've promoted it on Facebook.

Wow - that last post was four years ago. Well once again I've linked to the Great Old Pumpkin on my FB page.

I think about this story every Halloween too. Tis indeed worthy of annual hommage my friend.
