With the last of the cultists dead, the Harbinger fell to the floor, exhausted. Through dimming vision, he barely made out the disembodied appendages of the Dark Ancient One lapping the spilled blood.
“I need to know,” began the Harbinger, “if you truly are the inevitable end, why did you help me stop them?”
As the tendrils retracted into the void, a deep disembodied snarl responded, “This world is a summer fruit, light and green on the vine. I still await its ripening.”
“Tell what precious few descendants your line has left to enjoy their last few days of summer.”

Awesome, yeah go for it.
Though, retrospective edit, "last remaining days of summer" is preferred, being less repetitive.
