The Red Eye

Post by Jmsbrtms » Tue Jan 19, 2010 4:12 pm

The Red Eye
The eye put me here with a beam of red light that shown brighter than I had ever seen. I was told to stand in line with the others. We waited to be called upon, but I thought we would sleep for a long time.

Without notice our world spun into action. We were woken from our sleep and I saw the eye again. It shined down on us from high above. I waited my turn for the eye to lift me up from the darkness. Back into the world I once knew.

PKD meets the Wachowski brothers. As Strawman might observe, it doesn't feel crammed into the drabble box. Well done.

I had just finished updating my Linux Live CD collection when the idea came to me. What was the life of data on a CD/DVD really like?
