The Offering

Shuffling through the dumpster, I find the little bits of rind, grounds and spoiled meat. I slather them onto my coat yet again, and search the next dumpster, and the next. Foolish people, throwing away that which is so desired by… the others. Each dumpster yields its treasures, and my coat's covering is complete. Colors blend, the odors mingle.
Home, I remove the coat and lay it flat on the bed, delicacies facing up. Naked and oiled, I roll, becoming one with the offering. And I wait for them to come and feast, like each night that has come before.
