Act of War

Post by CLP » Wed May 19, 2010 1:26 pm

Earth, gigantic, hovers below me. I’m inside a ship nearly impossible to see. It’s constructed solely of magnetic fields. I try to stand; it feels like pushing the opposite poles of a magnet together. I wobble and fall back.
Away from Earth’s light pollution, a faint pink glow can be seen emanating from the walls. The electrical sparks arching along the walls must be the Ohmians. These bastards have been abducting humans, for some unknown purpose. That is an act of war. I was undercover, hoping to get abducted. When they get home, my EMP will teach them a lesson.

So the Ohmians are the resistance movement?

In some capacity. who can blame them in the current state of affairs? They are responsible for a series of attacks.

I'm simply repulsed by all these puns.

I'm shocked.

Sorry gang, I didn't mean to get anyone hot. It's just that the original story, though short, opened a junction that I couldn't resist and so contrary to common decency I decided to socket to you all and used the Ohmians as a device to switch the thread to the current one. Of course the potential was always there. Anyhow, my bad. While the frequency of my posts have declined lately I've been a bit of a fixture here and should have known better. Hopefully it's just a phase. I've been a little overloaded lately and I guess that my comment was an outlet of sorts. Guilty as charged. Watt can I say? I also must also accept some fault for inducing others to conduct themselves poorly and the conversation subsequently getting amplified into a high voltage series of puns. They do have a certain power to them and while they resonate with some, obviously few people are neutral on the subject.

I note that one comment has already been made that puns can be terminal. I don't want to be a victim of battery or catch a bunch of static so in an effort to defuse this line I think that it's probably best to wave bye-bye before dropping out and go to ground. Hopefully breaking the thread's continuity will be a signal to others to modulate their feedback and will thus impede this horrible series of alternating puns so that they will become de-energized. I don't know what else I can do the rectify things.

I can see this as the basis for a redo of The Andromeda Strain. Nuke the whole damn town to keep the puns from spreading.
