Gern NEVER picked up hitchhikers. It was NOT a recommended practice for a safe motorist. But as Gern approached the hitchhiker, he saw that he was oddly familiar.

Which is not surprising, since the hitchhiker was him.

Nonplussed, Gern honked and pulled over, then hopped out to help his hitchhiker-self load his suitcase into the trunk. But as Gern wrestled with the suitcase, his hitchhiker-self jumped behind the wheel and sped off.

Gern was staring blankly at his receding car, when he heard a honk behind him. He turned to see a car pull up. The driver was oddly familiar...
