Rock, Paper, Cthullu

With thanks to Neil Gaiman

Anthony and Sally stood in stunned silence as Greg’s fingers waggled ominously in the air. Greg looked down at his own hand in shock. The room grew cold, as if a sinister wind had picked up.

“What did you do that for?” Sally finally cried. Her knuckles popped and crackled unstoppably as her nails dug deep into her palm, piercing her skin. Anthony’s index and middle fingers elongated and drooped. The flesh seemed to melt from his bones.

Greg opened his mouth to speak, but only a cephalopodic screech escaped.

“Paper!” Anthony wailed. “What the hell was wrong with paper?”
