The next summer, every movie had Batman in it.

Hollywood execs had, it would seem, been reading Twitter that day.

Comedies where Batman had raised a child, actioners featuring Batman fighting terrorists. Victorian dramas where Batman advised the Queen regarding Scotland.

In one film, a high school girl who’d only just moved to town had to make a tough decision between the Batman she loved, and the Batman who loved her.

At first we were thrilled, we’d changed the world! Our stupid gag had forever altered Hollywood!

Then we went and actually watched these films.

Now: We are not thrilled.

I don't shop that section of the video store myself, but Batgirl Does Dallas is a classic...

(I had to share this. Wish I had written it)

Batman fights the dogs and then fights The Joker. Eventually The Joker falls off a ledge and plummets
toward the ground, but Batman saves him.

BATMAN:
I saved you, Joker. That proves how committed I am to my sissy-pants moral code.

JOKER:
Huh. You didn’t seem to have a problem letting Ra's Al Ghul die in the last movie, and all he did was blow up your house. I guess you loved your mansion more than Maggie Gyllenhaal. I don’t blame you, honestly.

BATMAN:
I had to save you! You need to be in the next movie!

JOKER:
Yeah… about that…

That's a Parisian French accent. A Canadian French accent sounds like this:

"To da Batscave!"
