Her Own Bat

My granddaughter ran for the door with a baseball bat.

“Sweety where are you going?”

“Outside to play.”

I took the bat and looked at the handle.

“This is my bat from Triple-A-Ball. I've had it for years. After the collapse, I killed two guys with it.

“In the dark days, with Grandma?”

“That's right. See, the handle is wrapped with human skin. This old bat means a lot to me.”

“What can I play with?”

“Sweety we can go to the store this afternoon. We'll buy your own bat.”

I love me a healthy, family friendly story.
