This be a new Drabble

Post by thebrog » Wed Aug 20, 2008 11:00 pm

I sat in the bushes watching the parade go on in front of me. I looked at the crowds and took in so much of the atmosphere that I barely noticed that right on time the motorcade came around the corner. In it the man of the hour waved to the people, smiling, optimistic.

With three seconds left my eye began to look up into the depository ad the flash went off. The well known panic filled the streets, the president had been shot.

I guess Oswald did do it; I owed someone at the time travel agency five bucks.

Very Nice!

I hope one day, and within my lifetime, we will be able to close the book on that one. As someone who has visited the scene, the museum, walked the grassy knoll, and the plaza - I have my doubts.

If Oswald did do it, solo, it was one HELL of a shot!

Love the premise. If anyone else watches Doctor Who, this sounds like something Jack Harkness would do.

This is why I love drabbles - we don't need any other explanation about time travel, the time agency, or the main character. We've just got this one moment, and that's all we need.

You're always the hero in your own story - life is about not being the villain in anyone else's.
