The Ship

Post by monsata » Sat Sep 04, 2010 7:57 am

I wake up suddenly.

Klaxons blare, my head throbs. My roommate won’t wake up, even when I shove him. I lurch uneasily into the hall. More people, asleep in uncomfortable positions. Somehow they don’t hear the buzzing.

Stumbling past them, I get to a security panel and turn off the alarm. Everyone here is asleep! I make my way into the security room to find out what’s happening to the ship. Were we attacked somehow?

But, the monitors just show me. I am covered in gore, and every person I can see in the monitors isn’t asleep… they’re all dead.

I am now thoroughly afraid of sleepwalkers.

That's why people watch Big Brother. To see the season finale.

*tips hat* I do what I can, Mikes.

flyawaybefree, I like the sleepwalker angle. I honestly hadn't considered that when I was writing it, it was more of a "he sees a truth, but not necessarily THE truth" unreliable narrator sort of thing.
