Siren

Post by CLP » Thu Oct 07, 2010 3:30 pm

A man lays dead, face down in a bowl of cream of mushroom soup.

“No signs of a struggle, probably a heart attack,” says Detective Murphy.

“Maybe,” says O’brien, “Or maybe it’s one of them evil soup sirens, from the tabloids, that lures eaters to their soupy deaths with its soupy song.”

“Don’t be ridiculous.”

The heavenly aroma draws them to the pot on the stove. The surface flickers and flutters enticingly. They absently pour themselves bowls. It’s so creamy, so mushroomy.

“Come.” The soup sings, “Join me.”

The loving warmth of the soup embraces them, it is pure joy.

My read is up.

I gotta tell you, this one was a blast to read. It's almost as much fun to listen to. The story is hilarious! Great job, CLP!
