Facelift

Facelift

“So, Mr Alien, how come you look like us?” I asked the visitor that evening. The glow from his rocket ship cast shadows across the garden.
“I don’t.” he had replied.
“But you do,” I insisted, “Actually, you remind me of someone specific… but I can’t quite place your face.”
The answer perched on the tip of my tongue, but refused to be swallowed.

“We all look identical;” he had explained, and then smiled. He reached up to his hairline and pulled back with his fingertips.

The knowledge slid down my throat and landed hard in my gut.
“Dad?”

Mom's favorite video, no doubt:

What would have been written.
Spoiler:
If they hadn't died first.

Nicely descriptive.... "tip of my tongue but refused to be swallowed" :)
