Ministry of Love, Grammar Bureau

Post by InfernoFudd » Tue Feb 01, 2011 6:48 am

My hands were flat on the grimy wall. Legs apart.
“Fleas fly to the flung flue, flat from the flinging.”
“Try again,” said a rough voice.
“Scattered sky skimmed schools, scorched from scurrying.”
The uniformed men still weren’t pleased. I’m never getting out of this.
Last night I started my second year of apprenticeship in sentence structure. Learning this trade is dangerous as well as rewarding, but the wrong subject-verb agreement, even mistakenly, can lead to pronoun prohibition. That further leads to crackdowns on all sorts of literary devices, leading to listening devices, hence the run-in with the Alliteration Police.

I promise a MacGuffin in every plot, and a metaphor in every montage.
