Prime Mover / retirement-the promised land

Post by ROU Killing Time » Wed Feb 16, 2011 9:01 am

Great eddies of cosmic dust swirl and flow with my passing, forming galaxies in my wake.

Creation; beautiful, magnificent, and maddening to behold.

Endless complexity pierces my eyes, the after-image of countless stars burns behind my closed lids.

The shrieking background radiation deafens me as I claw at my ears.

If only it could all stop and go quiet.

If only I could know silence and rest.

I hold still, so perfectly still, as aeons pass.

And then, ever so slowly, the universe grows silent.

And dark.

And cold.

Frozen tears form at my eyes as I begin to shiver.

I've got to stop posting at midnight so my drabbles don't fall off the "New Posts" list before anyone sees them.
