This might have been done before, but here goes:

My hands hover over the time machine's controls. Everything is ready. I have only to engage the starter, and I will be hurdled into what is, for me, the past. I have to go back, need to. But what right do I have to jeopardize the time stream just to fulfill my own desires, no matter how important? The threads that hold time together are as fragile as a spiderweb. Can I justify my need as worth the risk to billions of lives? My stomach rumbles, and I push the button. I go back. They stopped serving breakfast at 11.
