Pyrrhic Victory

Post by ROU Killing Time » Wed Nov 09, 2011 5:48 am

The head NASA astronomer faced the press corp and cleared his throat.

“Roman theologian Sextus Julius Africanus predicted the end of the world would occur in the year 500 A.D.”

“Thiota of Mainz predicted the apocalypse when we reached 1000 A.D.”

“William Miller's biblical ending, sometime between 1843 and 1844, seems to also have been dis-proven.”

“All of these predictions share one thing in common. Namely, none of them said that the end was coming next Tuesday.”

He clicked on the projector showing the incoming comet and it's trajectory of certain impact.

“Science - one, Superstition - zero.”
