Cognition

Post by HJfiction » Sun Apr 15, 2012 5:01 pm

A labrador scampers into the backyard, intent on approaching his owners for a routine ear-scratching. He stops short when he hears the man whisper, “No, Janice. It’s not OK. I’ve never cheated. Get your shit and get out of my house.”
“Brian,” she whispers back, pleading.
“No. Get out.”
A door slams, the dog approaches from behind. Brian’s sitting on the back steps, feet on the ground, head in his hands. The dog sticks its head in the opening between Brian’s arm and ribcage. Brian scratches its ears. “Perfect timing, Spike.”
The dog groans in ecstasy, aware of it all.

My cat is aware
but doesn't care.
My little black dog would care, but
He's a needy, stupid mutt.

A ware? No.
A Toy Poodle.

:) Sorry, HJ. You just gotta know my dog to understand. Wanna swap?

Like it. My dog is just like this, though thankfully he hasn't encountered this exact situation.

Hahaha I assumed it wasn't meant as a job, just wasn't sure. And nah, I'll take my lab retriever. Thankfully, this situation hasn't happened to me, either.

I'm not sure I know how to write stranger material. I understand this place is more about that, or at least their podcast is. I do appreciate the feedback, either way.
