Revenge of the Nanonerd: Being an Unauthorized Sequel to . .

Post by Douglas Hackle » Tue Jun 12, 2012 11:09 pm

. . . Eric Marsh's "Revenge of the Nerd"

After the nanites wiped out humanity, their bioengineered nanocircuitry evolved, acquiring both intelligence and stupidity.

They settled into nanocountries. Everywhere the nanite eye could see, the carbon nanotube skyscrapers of their nanocities rose low into the sky. Very, very low.

And the new civilization’s nanonerds designed increasingly cool buckyball-wheeled cars. But nerdom came at a price--even at nanoscale.

After Zorkledorf finally worked up the nerve to ask Kaylie out, she laughed at him.

Nobody, however, would ever call him a nanonerd again; Zorkledorf grinned as he poured the vial of self-replicating fermibots down the drain and opened the faucets.
