The Cry of the Wendigo.
The Cry of the Wendigo.
Colonel Burnham knew the men had heard the legends. How the corpses had been sliced like garlands, the prints surrounding the bodies marked with a single dab of blood. They had started up the Aroostook River on a run to deliver the gold bullion to Quebec. But as they holed up in the cedar swamp for a last stand, even the rumor of Malecite warriors couldn’t quell their nerves much longer. As the fog descended, the Colonel knew they’d have one final chance to sink the bullion in the swamps and await the bidding of the incessant howls around them.
