Haircuts (Communication Breakdown)

Post by TheBigBadG » Thu Jan 10, 2013 2:00 pm

'You've had a haircut,' I told him.

'No,' James replied, clearly annoyed. I laughed at his irreverence but he snapped at me: 'My head's growing faster than my hair, ok?'

He's alright, James is. I smiled back at his wry joke.

It was a couple of weeks later when I noticed his glasses were tight on his face and he was rapidly going bald. He looked pretty depressed so I joked with him, 'At least you don't need another haircut!' He didn't laugh.

Next week in the canteen I saw hair spilling out from his mouth as he ate lunch.

It was born of a retort I took to using in the face of unoriginal criticism at school. Thankfully my cranial cavity stopped expanding though so the barber still gets my custom in these impoverished times.

It was meant to be pointed at the last of the Jan themes btw, so I edited the title. Thanks for the welcome though. Equally thanks for the drabbles of yours in recent episodes that have peaked my interest and got me on here. Mutual backslapping all round, yah?

But, but... I've never had a drabble get on the podcast! :(
Oh, I get it "(no) drabbles of yours ... peaked my interest". Ouch. That backslap packs quite a wallop.

Have you not? Maybe it was a Twabble then? I'm sure that I've heard Norm's dulcet tones introduce me to the name Algeron Sydney is Dead. Didn't I....?

Yes, I've had a twabble or two on the podcast, which is good but not quite the honor, prestige, and large cash infusion of a Drabble.

Ok, well thanks for the twabbles then. Cash infusion though? I didn't realise, I would have agonised over this a hell of a lot more if I'd known that...

No, drabbles don't actually earn money. Take it from me.

It's that kind of thinking that explains everything.

Good, it makes it a lot simpler for my feeble mind if I don't have to fret about pennies.

One short sojourn in Youtube later, yeah I get it! </British meep> Very glad you enjoyed it though, I'll keep on at it in that case.
