Swarms (There Goes the Neighborhood)

It’s late, sweetie.

The perimeter doesn't appear to be breached. All the trip wires are intact.

I was afraid when I saw a swarm hunting the dell you were farming this morning. The males searching from beautiful wings as they frolicked in the air while the females scoured the ground – hunting both in swarm and from hosts.

They drive their stingers right into you and stay attached until their offspring emerge. The seeping wounds are full of growing children.

Go to bed, honey.

I’ll stay here watching until you fall asleep.

No reason to check the closet for us tonight.

Welcome aboard, Suomy Nona!
No reason to check the closet for us tonight, indeed.

Two minor issues:
  1. Please use paragraph breaks instead of one block of text.
  2. Suomy Nona wrote:The parameter doesn't appear to be breached.
    It's perimeter.

I agree with ASID but I also like this one. It's not just the neighbourhood, it's parenting that's gone out the window. Never mind the closet, honey, the swarm of death-bees outside has trumped it...
