Contrasting imagery

Post by SeanT » Mon Mar 04, 2013 12:30 am

Cindy laughed as the little frogs eyes bulged. She squeezed a little harder and laughed a little louder at funny, stupid smelly little frog. She squeezed harder still, and squash, squirt, splat went Mr Froggy, and feeling suddenly guilty for she tossed the frog into her brother’s pram.

And mom came, and stared a long time at mangled frog corpse lying on her new born sons face. Something about it struck her just so, and she couldn’t take her eyes of it. That was the day Cindy learned the value of contrasting innocent imagery with the grotesque for dramatic effect.

To be honest, no.

To end with "the value of contrasting innocent imagery with the grotesque for dramatic effect" was actually a pretty clever resolution of a pretty gross set-up.

I just couldn't resist responding with the Wasteland pun. I think TSE would have chuckled.

This may just be me, but i felt really really sorry for the frog. I liked it though.

If it makes you feel better, purechance, the frog had it coming. He was an evil frog. :-) Thanks for the feedback.

Straw man, you are one slick sesquipedalian stylist. Thank god for dictionary.com is all I say.
