First Impressions

Post by sandrilde » Tue Mar 12, 2013 9:32 pm

I cover my third eye with a flesh-colored eye-patch, even though that is the eye that helps me balance. I stuff my tentacles into various sleeves and leggings and force my body into an upright shape. I wobble into the room with all the humans, aware that my head sits in the middle of what would be their chests. I can feel my make-up running.

I know what matters. A powerful handshake. I teeter toward a recruiter, offering my gloved tentacles. I can feel the slime dripping down them onto his wrist as he gingerly shakes with me, then screams.

Really strong story. The scream caught me a little off guard and I had to go back and reread the last line. I like the characterization!

It's probably always a good idea, when feeling that an interviewer is looking at you as if you were a tentacled alien, to imagine yourself and act like an actual tentacled alien. The scream indicates you have made a strong showing.
