Wood and Metal

Post by Suomy Nona » Sun Mar 17, 2013 2:43 am

I gently brush my fingertips across the front of my filing cabinet. Feeling the smooth surface of new furniture always gives me a slight thrill.

I slide a drawer out and place my face close to the opening. Instant intoxication from inhaled warehouse toxins removes all thoughts of my physical reality.

I lift slightly until I feel a release.

I lower the drawer to the ground and peered deep into the opening.

Then I enter.

I pause but don’t stop when I realize my coworkers are all staring. Their shocked expressions reveal they have never witnessed anyone defiling a cabinet.

Probably have that same expression on my face.
